U.S. Rep. Joe Schwarz was honored by The Science Coalition, a Washington, D.C.-based group that seeks to expand federal funding for university research. Schwarz received the group's Champion of Science award for supporting federal funding for basic science research. Wayne State is noted as one of four Michigan colleges that is a member of The Science Coalition.
